The Green Pavona is a type of hard stony coral of the Pavona family. It is known by other trade names; Cactus Coral, Potato Chip Coral, to name only two. There are many variations of this coral type that vary in color pattern, color intensity, and are known by different trade names. This is a medium growing coral that grows in an encrusting and double sided wafer like shape. The parent of the Pavona in the Bridge Tender reef arrived at Reeves' Reef in July 2016 and was made to grow on the shell that you see now. The parent was an unknown age and unknown generation of coral. Reeves' Reef is cultivating more generations of fragments of this coral.
